Keep It Classy With Portable Restrooms for Your Outdoor Wedding
Dec 01, 2017

An outdoor wedding allows you to bring the beauty of the great outdoors into your ceremony and reception. While a backdrop of trees and flower gardens makes for perfect photos, outdoor weddings also present some challenges — including bathroom access. Many parks and outdoor gathering spots don't come equipped with bathrooms, so you'll need to provide your own.

The thought of stepping into a portable toilet in wedding attire is probably not a pleasant one. Thankfully, there are ways to make your bathroom rental classy enough for your wedding day. Follow these four wedding day tips.

1. Rent Portable Restrooms Rather Than Portable Toilets

When you think of portable toilets, you might picture the simple green or blue stalls that you see at festivals and construction sites. While modern portable toilets are better suited for a special event than you might imagine, they're not the classiest option available. What you really want is a restroom trailer.

Portable restroom trailers are like luxury bathrooms on wheels. They have several separate bathroom stalls inside — each of which houses a real, flushing toilet. The most upscale models even have air conditioning, mirrors, and skylights. The inside of a restroom trailer is as nice as the public restrooms at indoor wedding venues. Guests will have a nice place to tidy up and use the bathroom without getting their wedding attire dirty.

2. Plan the Bathroom Location Carefully

Even the most luxurious restroom trailer won't feel very luxurious if it's parked in a puddle or right next to the serving table. Discuss your bathroom placement ahead of time so you can let your rental company know exactly where to park it.

If your site is on a hill, park the trailer toward the top of the hill so that water does not pool around the trailer if it rains. Place the bathrooms far from the dining area and bar so that any bathroom odors do not permeate the space.

3. Consider a Designated Bathroom for the Bride

Using the bathroom can be a big enough challenge in a wedding dress — even if you don't have to wait in line or squeeze past 10 guests. Consider renting a separate bathroom trailer for the bride, perhaps to be shared by her bridal party.

Another option is to designate a specific stall in your restroom trailer for the bride. Hang a sign on the door that states "For the Bride, Only." If your restroom trailer has a larger stall, then you can designate that stall for the bride and for any guests with mobility issues. The larger stall gives the bride more space to deal with her dress.

4. Decorate the Bathroom to Suit Your Party

The other secret to making outdoor bathrooms feel wedding appropriate is to decorate them to fit the wedding theme. Purchase some ribbons in the wedding colors and tie them around door handles and other projections on the trailer to make it blend in with the decor. Consider buying wastebaskets in your wedding colors and placing them inside the trailer.

Setting out a basket of bathroom essentials will make guests feel more comfortable in the restrooms, too. Fill the basket with items like hairspray, combs, facial tissue, sunscreen, bug spray, lint rollers, aspirin, feminine hygiene products, and hair ties so that guests can help themselves as needed.

Rental bathrooms are a necessity for most outdoor weddings, and they can be a lot classier than you might imagine. If you're looking for luxurious restroom trailers in the Jackson area, contact Gotta Go Site Service Rentals. Our bathroom trailers are perfect for weddings and other special events.
